Some weeks (maybe even months) ago, through
a friend of mine, I happened on a startup called GenieBelt.
The idea is simple and fantastic: “to
help get construction projects completed smarter and faster” through an
online and mobile platform. I wish we could have used this tool in our project,
when we were struggling to keep track on status of the 17 project sites, where construction
works were carried out. The good news is, I might get
the opportunity to join to this team and support to make GenieBelt better known, therefore make some project managers' life a bit less stressful.
Here comes a short post which intends to convince GenieBelt about my suitability.
I have learnt a lot in the last 5 years. I
learnt about myself, I have a sharper view about my strengths and weaknesses,
and I also gained many so-called professional skills, I haven’t even realised
for long! Due to a personal blog about my
stay in Italy, I acquired how to “produce content”, what I used and
developed at my editorial assistant position, through writing and posting
articles in topics like the
human memory system, fungal
intoxication and aflatoxins.
I also managed to meet
with tight deadlines, which was crutial, since the company’s main revenue derived
from the monthly export of the updated pharmaceutical database to public
hospitals.
Later on, as a project assistant, I was
challenged by handling multiple tasks parallel, such as: prepare technical
specifications for procurements, write meeting minutes, ensure smooth
process between the stakeholders, take care about the daily office
management, support the on-boarding of new project members, trigger the invoice
payments and deal with the conctract management. According to the project professional manager, I
was really
good in it, and honestly, I loved it. I would like to get a chance to work in a
similarly complex position again. This is why I am applying for this position.
